Trying to find out how to ship Mo was probably the most time consuming preparation and most definitely the steepest learning curve. No reason other than the fact that shipping a vehicle was about as foreign a task as we had set ourselves to do. Googling shipping companies eventually evolved into understanding that it was forwarding agents we needed to contact. But with a list of requirements as long as one’s arm, and understanding agents from GAC, Mo is almost ready to go.
Documentation required:
- Shipping Instruction
- Carnet du Passage – from AA
- Pre-shipment condition report
- Police clearance
- Letter from the vehicle financiers (if still financed)
- Certified copies of the license papers
Mo was shipped from Durban, South Africa on 15 November and arrived in Tema, Ghana on 8 December. Not Bad!
